Eastleigh is a busy place Industry and commerce pour in every day to one of the country's major railyards, Pirelli, Mr. Kipling, Ford, national insurance companies and banks. There is a shopping mall, traditional shopping & business streets, vibrant street markets twice a week, and the town is ideally situated for fast & easy access to the M3 and M27. Southampton (Eastleigh) Airport lies on the periphery of the town, and there are two mainline railway stations with fast services to London Waterloo. But, the population isn't merely transient. The chimney pots are plentiful in Eastleigh, the schools are excellent, the social clubs thriving. Rows of Victorian houses march back from the original Victorian greenpark. Homes here still represent enormously good value, and their generous accommodation is a huge surprise to those not in the know. Over the railway bridge and out to the villages are some further splendid surprises - converted manor houses creating charming apartments with rivers babbling by - plenty of newly built properties by national builders, and popular sixties developments providing good solid family value. Chandlers Ford is a couple of miles west, offering delightful established homes, and most of the national builders are represented within Valley Park. |
